What We Do

Tucker's Teddies Inc supplies teddy bears to families that have lost a child so they do not have to walk out of the hospital empty handed. The Tucker Bear provides something to hug and hold on that long walk and the car ride home. Smaller bears are provided to children being treated in-patient. 
​Delivering craft materials, memory making kits and holiday decorations to those being treated at various hospitals is another way we lend support to families and patients. Last but certainly not least we will offer any support possible to staff for example, holding staff appreciation days.

why we do what we do

On September 26, 2017, Tucker Mullen was born. He was a perfectly beautiful little boy. One month later he would be diagnosed with left ventricular non-compaction, a rare form of cardiomyopathy. Tucker was sent to Children's National in DC. He received amazing care. It was the hope that with medication and close observation he would do well. Unfortunately, in December of 2017 Tucker's heart condition grew more severe. He would be admitted to the CICU at Children's, there he would spend the next 3 1/2 weeks. Tucker passed on January 7, 2018.

Kim is a long time friend and is always there for us no matter the situation. She brings a background in both education and finance.

Caroline and I have been by each others side no matter what life hands us and we  always come out okay in the end. We may come out with a tear in our eye, laughing or sometimes both but we stick together. Caroline brings many years of business experience to the group.

Sierra is Tucker's Mommy. She has vowed to make a difference since Tucker's passing. Sierra not only honors Tucker but all the babies we met at Children's.

Catherine instantly made a difference the moment she walked in Tucker's room at Children's. She is genuine, compassionate and full of energy. After hearing our ideal of the teddy bears, Catherine came up with Tucker's Teddies.

Jay is like family to us. He was with us every step of Tucker's journey and is always supportive of Sierra. Jay is graduating from PA school in July!

Nora is what every nurse should be. She is compassionate, skilled, kind, pays attention to detail, basically she is the whole package. Her best skill may be her craft making expertise.

Donate Blood

Tucker received about 20 units of blood during his stay at Children's. There is always a need for blood donation. Contact the blood donation center at 202-476-5000 for more information.
